The Best Team Building Activities in Sydney

CityDays’ guide to booking the best team building activities in Sydney, including outdoor team building activities in Sydney, corporate team building activities and much, much more!

1 Go On a Sydney Scavenger Hunt

One of the best team building activities in Sydney for big and small businesses alike, a scavenger hunt through Sydney CBD ticks all the boxes.

Not only does it allow your employees to stretch their legs (did you know that walking can increase productivity by up to 50%?), it also requires equal participation from all team members to achieve their collective goal.

Watch as your teams disperse into Sydney CBD or a district of your choice on the prowl for clues, riddles and cryptic puzzles and be amazed when they return with hilarious photos, nuggets of trivia and improved relationships.

From picking team names to racing against the clock, the teams have plenty of opportunity to show some creative flair and powers of deduction. Let them loose and see what happens!

2 Go On a Sydney Treasure Hunt in Search of Urban Bounty

If the pirate’s life is more for you, check out our Sydney treasure hunts.

Send your workmates on a quest for knowledge (or the pub!) with one of our masterfully-crafted treasure hunts. Set in a suburb of your choice, your teams will race against the clock to answer clues, unravel riddles and solve puzzles.

They’ll have nothing but each other, some competitive spirit and clues sent to their phones to help them navigate their way, so cooperation and collaboration is key.

PSST: Got a special end venue in mind? Tell us! We’re always up for the challenge of curating a trail with specific requirements. We can even start or end at your office if you want. Just send us a message with your requests and we’ll see what we can do!

3 Go On a Secret Sydney Walking Tour

Did you know that around 250 languages are spoken in Sydney every single day and 39.2% of its residents were born overseas?

Chances are, your coworkers have links to every corner of the Earth. One thing you all have in common? Living in one of the most diverse and beautiful cities in the world.

Release your colleagues from their hunched positions at their desks and give them a chance to rediscover their city their own way by undertaking a self-guided Sydney walking tour together. Players will answer riddles and clues to navigate them around a chosen route that unravels Sydney’s many mysteries, beauty spots and best-kept secrets.

4 Become Sydney Sleuths By Solving a Murder Mystery

Get creative with your corporate team building activities in Sydney with a murder mystery right in the heart of the CBD.

For one day only, strip your IT department, interns, assistant managers and everyone in between of their roles and transform them into daytime detectives by undertaking a classic murder mystery – with a twist.

Our murder mystery trails have been masterfully designed to give your teams the ability to chase ‘suspicious persons of interest’ and find out ‘whodunnit’. By using their cunning wit and guile, they’ll have to use clues and react in real-time to mysterious events unfolding in front of them. Will they catch the killer? We’ll find out when we look at the leaderboard…

5 Play an Exploration Game Through Sydney CBD

You walk down the same streets every day, park your car in the same spot (or try to, at least) or get off the bus at the same stop to go to work. But what about all the stuff you’ve missed?

It could be a plaque, sculpture, a piece of street art or even the secret history of a streetlamp, but the only way you’ll find out just how incredible your Sydney suburb is will be booking an Urban Adventure with us.

Spill the tea and let your colleagues in on the secrets as you disperse in teams around Sydney on the hunt for secrets, uncovering hidden gems and incredible landmarks along the way.

Unusual Facts About Sydney

While your business is busy delivering quality products and services in your unique area of expertise, we’re busy crafting trails and games that bring people together, challenge them, teach them a thing or two, and of course, allow them to have fun.

Our team building activities in Sydney are designed to do all of those things and take the pressure off of you, the organiser. Because that’s what we do.

We’ve helped numerous Sydney businesses craft their perfect team building days, and if you want a sneak peek at the effort we go into to do it, check out these unusual facts about Sydney…

1 Australia’s Oldest Road is George Street

A dirt road track established in 1788, George Street has been in operation since colonisation.

It’s also home to Sydney’s only remaining Victorian-era urinal, an ornately designed cast iron piece of street furniture that originally stood at Observatory Hill.

2 Sydney Town Hall is Built Above The City’s First Burial Ground

Around 2000+ people (convicts and free settlers alike) were buried there between 1792 and 1820 when it was deemed full. From then on, bodies were buried at Brickfield Cemetery, which we now call Central Railway Station.

3 Defunct Australian One and Two Cent Coins Were Used in Bronze Medals at The Sydney 2000 Olympics

When one and two cent coins were taken out of circulation in 1991, they were melted down and repurposed as Olympic bronze medals - 17 of which were won by Aussie athletes!

In case you’re wondering (or can’t remember, it was a while ago!) Australia came fourth in the overall tally of medals at the end of Sydney 2000.

4 Barangaroo’s Ashes Were Scattered At What Is Now Circular Quay

As a Cammeraygal leader of the Eora Nation, Barangaroo was a powerful Aboriginal woman who was outspoken against early British colonists.

When she died in 1791, following a traditional cremation ceremony, her husband Bennelong scattered her ashes at Governor Phillip’s Garden - nowadays known as Circular Quay - which is sandwiched between Barangaroo and Bennelong Point.
