In 2011, Perth Mint broke world records. The coin produced was the heaviest, largest and most valuable coin in the world, coming in at 80 cm in diameter, 12 cm thick and 1, 012 kg of 99.99% solid gold.
It was legally worth 1 million dollars (AUD), but its true worth was estimated to be 53.5 million dollars. The coin featured a profile of Queen Elizabeth II and a red kangaroo.
