Early access week is now over and The Traitors: Anywhere is now in all players’ hands across the UK and Ireland.
One of the best things about releasing live and digital experiences is getting to see players like you enjoy what we have spent months perfecting. And this release has been no exception.
After months of development, testing, and fine-tuning alongside our incredible playtesters, you can now experience the game directly inside your group chat on WhatsApp. No extra downloads, just instant fun and treachery wherever you have internet access.
How to Start Playing The Traitors: Anywhere
All you need to play The Traitors: Anywhere is a Castle of 8-30 players (including yourself, if you want to play along), and internet access.
- Create Your Castle: Head to our website, create your Castle and invite players in. Once you and all the players have secured passes and locked in, you’re all set.
- Complete Your Interview: Tell us, the Host, which alliance you want to play as and answer a few of our other questions. We’ll randomly pick Traitors from the pool of players who elect to play as Traitors. Everyone else will be Faithful…unless or until a Traitor tries to recruit them!
- Let The Games Begin: Once you’re all set, you’ll get a message formally welcoming you to your Castle. The organiser will set up the group chat and the game begins.

Creating The Traitors: Anywhere
At CityDays, our mission has always been to bring creative, interactive experiences to everyone, everywhere. Typically, we've done this by physically bringing people together in cities and locations around the world. This time, we brought the experience to your pockets.
Played entirely through WhatsApp, The Traitors: Anywhere is the first of its kind for us. As long as you’re in the Castle, you can play.
A Thank You From Us, The Creators
Building complex mechanics to create a game played on WhatsApp presented a unique challenge for us. We’re used to working with maps, lots of research, cities and public spaces all over the world. But this was something entirely new.
To build The Traitors: Anywhere, our team had to create something unique.
Our development team had to build custom game architecture that can handle all those Castles full of Traitors and Faithfuls alike from scratch. Our creative team created Missions and crafted the messages sent by the Host. Our in-house graphics design team drew all the visual assets in the game by hand. Our marketing team spread the word about the game and gave you all the updates. Our operations team kept us all on track and made all of this possible. And our customer service team continues to work tirelessly to give us all your feedback and to help you, the players, out.
As The Traitors: Anywhere is an official digital experience of the hit TV show, we also have to give a huge thanks to the licensors who partnered with us to bring you this experience.
