What is Dandelion Chocolate?

Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate maker based in San Francisco. The company was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who were passionate about the art and science of chocolate-making.

Dandelion’s dark chocolate bars are made in small batches using only two ingredients; the highest quality cocoa beans and organic cane sugar.

What makes Dandelion Chocolate special?

Dandelion roasts and grinds beans from a single farm or cooperative at a time. It’s a winemaker’s approach, and each bar is as distinct from the next as a Chianti is from a Barolo.

Dandelion prides itself on sourcing its cocoa beans directly from small farmers around the world and building lasting relationships with these suppliers. Traditional, minimalist techniques are then used to turn these beans into delicious chocolate creations.

The company believes that travelling to each origin strengthens their relationships with cocoa producers and procures good flavour, year after year.

What else does Dandelion Chocolate have to offer?

In addition to its chocolate bars, Dandelion also offers a range of other chocolate products, including hot chocolate, chocolate-covered almonds and other nuts, and chocolate truffles.

The company also has a café and retail shop, where visitors can sample a variety of chocolate treats and learn about the chocolate-making process.

One highlight, is the opportunity to take part in a chocolate-making class. The classes, held at the company's factory in San Francisco, offer a hands-on experience where participants can learn about the history of chocolate, the origins of cocoa beans, and the process of making chocolate from bean to bar.
