Caught you looking for things to do in London tomorrow! Don’t worry, we’re not here to judge your last-minute plans (or lack thereof).
Actually, I’d go as far to say that there’s no better city in the UK, perhaps even the world, to not have plans. Why? Because there are tons and tons of things to do in London, no matter when you’re visiting.
From thrilling treasure hunts to historic pubs, quirky museums and restaurants in Victorian toilets, there’s something for every taste and budget.
We’ve put our heads together, shared our favourite secret spots and activities with each other and even divulged where we pick up coffee along the way–and now, we’re sharing them with you.
And just so you know - we’re not paid by anybody to include these on our list. They’re just places we’ve been to or experiences we’ve loved that we want to recommend to you, so you can find the best things to do in London.
Best Things to Do in London Tomorrow
1 - Uncover Some City Secrets on a London Treasure Hunt
Looking for unique things to do in London tomorrow? Start off by injecting some adventure into your plans.
Treasure hunts like these allow you (and your team of friends, family, or just you and your partner) to delve into London’s hidden gems and secret locations.
All you have to do is decipher clues, puzzles and riddles sent to your phone(s) via WhatsApp, visit some recommended historic pubs or cosy cafes along the way, and enjoy a few hours exploring that you’d otherwise have spent at home or in a queue, probably.
2 - Help Save Christmas on a Festive Lights Hunt
It’s that time of the year again, and you know what that means: London has been dressed up like a Christmas tree and, if you ask us, there’s no better time to enjoy the city streets.
Get into the festive spirit early by taking on the Festive Lights Hunt. What does that entail? Well, you’ll help Santa overcome his midlife crisis blues and save Christmas while exploring London's most dazzling light displays.
It's a magical quest filled with enchanting sights and fun challenges, making it one of the most festive things to do in London tomorrow.
3 - Lose a Few Hours and Win a Few Rounds at an Arcade Bar
If you're looking for things to do in London tomorrow that make you a winner, this is almost guaranteed to do it.
No matter how good or bad your gaming skills are, London’s arcade bars are a godsend if you’re out of ideas for how to spend a few hours with friends, family or your partner any given day of the week.
With retro classics and modern favourites, London’s arcade bars offer a fantastic way to have fun and maybe even ignite some friendly competition–and they’re usually fairly budget-friendly, too.
4 - Visit Some Historic London Pubs
It seems like an obvious one (especially if you’re British) but London’s pubs are way more than just places to sink a few pints.
You don’t even need to drink alcohol to appreciate how cool it is that so many of London’s pubs have been around for centuries and if you look beyond the kegs and occasionally rowdy patrons, you’ll uncover some really interesting history.
Don’t know where to start? Here are some of my favourites:
- 📍The Grenadier (Belgravia)
- 📍Prospect of Whitby (Wapping)
- 📍Churchill Arms (Kensington)
- 📍Mayflower Pub (Rotherhithe)
- 📍Ye Olde Mitre (Holburn)

5 - Visit Some Quirky Museums
Tired of the usual tourist spots? Of course you are.
If you’re looking for things to do in London tomorrow that spice up your itinerary, pay a visit to some of London's quirky museums. And that goes for locals, as well!
Visitor or lifelong Londoner, it probably hasn’t escaped your attention that this city is home to numerous fascinating museums dedicated to all kinds of subjects, and I’m yet to meet anyone who’s visited them all (though I am trying to reward myself with that accolade).
Here’s where I recommend:
Fun Things to Do in London Tomorrow
6 - Solve a 200-Year-Old Cold Case
Told you that this list had things on it you’d never done before.
This interactive exploration game allows you to step into the shoes of a modern-day detective, investigating the crimes of London’s most notorious serial killer, Jack The Ripper.
Immerse yourself in London’s city streets as you piece together clues, read the (real) case files and visit pubs frequented by suspects and victims alike.
7 - Treat Yourself to A Nice Afternoon Tea
As the old saying goes, “treat yourself!”
It’s never a bad time to indulge in this quintessential British tradition, but if you find yourself without any plans tomorrow, you just can’t go wrong.
If you’re feeling fancy, you can book somewhere themed or swanky providing they have space to accommodate you, but personally, I’m a fan of plonking myself down in a cafe somewhere and enjoying a nice baked treat, hot drink and a sandwich.
Just take yourself out for a walk and follow your nose; when somewhere smells good or catches your eye, pop inside and enjoy a well-deserved treat.
8 - Play an Outdoor Escape Room Game
Why stay indoors when you can turn the entire city into your playground?
Outdoor Escape Room Games like these help you navigate through London's streets while solving clues and puzzles. See parts of London you’ve never seen before, or see familiar places in a whole new light while racing against the clock to make it to the top of the leaderboard.
If you’re into narrative-style games then I’d recommend Humanity’s Last or a A Rift in Time; the first is best-suited to lovers of The Last of Us or any post-apocalyptic scenario fans, and the latter is perfect for any fellow Charles Dickens fans.
9 - Eat Some Good Food in Weird Places
I probably don’t need to remind you that London is one of the best cities in the world for foodies, and if you want Michelin star restaurants or viral on social media street food then you already know where to go.
But if you’re craving something different, enjoy some delicious food in some…unconventional settings.
Let me give you a taste (pardon the pun) of what to try:
- 📍Mercato Mayfair: A vibrant food market set inside a beautifully restored church, offering an array of global cuisines under stunning stained-glass windows.
- 📍Pick & Cheese: The world's first cheese conveyor belt restaurant. Yep, just like a sushi train…except, with cheese.
- 📍Gremio de Brixton: An atmospheric tapas bar located in a crypt beneath a church.
- 📍WC: A chic wine and charcuterie bar housed in a converted Victorian public toilet (hence the name!).
10 - Do a Self Guided Walking Tour Somewhere You’ve Never Been
Unless you’re a local, you wouldn’t believe how many Londoners hardly ever stray to the other side of the Thames. And even if you’re just visiting the UK capital, this is your sign to discover somewhere new for a change.
Explore London's nooks and crannies at your own pace with self-guided walking tours like these. Self-guided is the way to go if you want an enriching and flexible way to explore London, and there are numerous benefits beyond being able to start (and end) the tour whenever you fancy.
All you have to do is choose a borough you've never visited, sign your team up and head out to uncover its stories and secrets. You’ll follow clues and unlock directions that send you to iconic landmarks, secret sights and quirky snippets of history, all in just 2-3 hours.

11 - Buy a Book from a Floating Bookshop
Shopping is one of the go-to things to do in London at the last minute but if money’s tight or you just can’t face the crowds on Oxford Street, do something a little different and head to Word on the Water.
This charming bookshop is set on a canal boat that floats around on the Regent Canal and it’s somewhere I can (and frequently do) lose plenty of time browsing.
Take a look through an eclectic selection of books while enjoying the serene waterside ambience and maybe even pick yourself up something new to read.

12 - Visit One of London’s Spooky Cemeteries
Embrace the eerie by visiting one of London's atmospheric cemeteries like Highgate or Brompton.
They’re called the Magnificent 7 for a reason, and once you get in there and start wandering among the historic tombstones and marvelling at Gothic architecture, you’ll soon see why.
There’s (literally) buried history here and exploring them is a spine-tingling yet budget-friendly activity, ideal if you're looking for cheap things to do in London tomorrow.

13 - Visit London’s Very Own Jurassic Park
Aha, gotcha! Hardly anyone I speak to knows that the world’s oldest dinosaur sculptures are right here in London and best of all, they’re free to visit.
Now, if you’re looking for accuracy then this isn’t the place for you: these sculptures were made back in the Victorian era just as paleontology was taking off so, the designs are a *little* (read: a lot) off the mark, anatomically speaking.
On the other hand, it’s definitely unique and worth a look just for a glimpse into the Victorian mind and hey, it’s not every day you can eat your lunch with dinos.
14 - Take a Look Around Some Historic Markets
If you’re looking for cheap things to do in London tomorrow that take you a little off the beaten track, check out London’s historic markets.
Apart from being able to snag a bargain in a couple of them, there’s something really fascinating about visiting London’s oldest markets. They’re a great place to absorb the city’s rich history and culture without costing a penny to explore, and they’re very Instagram-worthy as well.
Here’s where I’d recommend:
15 - Go on a Dog Walk with London’s Dachshunds
If you just so happen to be looking for things to do in London tomorrow on the right day and you also happen to be a dog lover, you’ve got to join the Hyde Park Sausage Dog Walk.
Let me revise that actually: you don’t need to do the walk (although, if you have a sausage dog and you fancy a stroll, by all means), but for the rest of us, it’s a nice opportunity to see these low-tummed four-legged friends en masse.
16 - Go to a Creative Sesh at The National Gallery
We Londoners forget how lucky we are that many of our biggest and best museums are totally free to visit, but most of us also forget (or don’t know) that they host some really great exhibitions and workshops as well.
One of my favourites is the National Gallery's creative sessions, which is where you can unleash your inner artist and perfect your drawing skills. Doesn’t matter if you create a Picasso when you were aiming for a Rembrandt, it's a fun and inexpensive way to spend a day.
17 - Go Along to a Special Exhibition at The British Museum
Speaking of special exhibitions, one of the best places to expand your horizons and find things to do in London tomorrow is to check What’s On at The British Museum.
With a vast array of artefacts and exhibits, you can easily lose a whole day to the museum itself, but I’d also advise you to have a look and see if there’s anything that captures your interest besides the usual offerings.
General admission is free for members or vary in price depending on the exhibition, but there’s always something going on here.
18 - Walk All the Way From Greenwich to The Isle of Dogs
Need to get your steps in? If you’re looking for things to do in London tomorrow that help you meet your fitness goals, this is for you.
The Greenwich Foot Tunnel might not be the most scenic view of London (at least, not from underground it isn’t), but it’s a very cool piece of engineering and a great way to get moving.
At either end, you do get to enjoy some fabulous views and you can take your time doing the walk. I’d recommend walking to Greenwich and then spending a few hours there, it’s an underrated part of London in my opinion and there’s tons to see and do there.
19 - Dig Into Learning at The National Archives
Got a burning interest in something in particular? Head to the National Archives.
Honestly, whatever you want to find out about Britain’s past, you’ll find the answers here. Explore original documents and exhibitions for free, make the most of the reading rooms and just enjoy some quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
